The Last Week of January...

1/26/2021

Hello, my wonderful extended family of the written word,
Last week I publicly challenged myself and embarked on the weight-loss journey. So far, I've been keeping up with my exercise (3/week), and most of the time, I watch what I eat. The beauty of  "5 lbs per month" is that I can allow myself to go with a flow and eat without counting on occasion. For example, last Friday and Sunday, there was a Leaf game. On both occasions, we had pizza, and on Sunday, I added wings to it with a glass of wine. I also enjoyed a couple of chocolate chip cookies and grapes. It wasn't much of a diet or a healthy and nutritious meal, but I felt like eating with the rest of my family. Don't forget; I am the cook at home. Nevertheless, losing 3 pounds until February 1st should not be a problem.
I hope my story inspires some of you to do the same. Give yourself achievable goals and allow yourself a break. You'll see, in the end, all will be worthed.  If you are interested in participating in my weight-loss journey in any way, scroll to the bottom of the page and select  YouTube. You can subscribe and follow my channel - give me thumbs up to support me. You are most welcome to join me from the comfort of your home at your convenient time, or you can share it with someone you think would benefit from it. Drop me an email through my contact page - go to the About the Author page. I'd love to hear from you.
In the meantime, pick up a book and have yourself a great read!
Stay safe and stay healthy!  😊

Public Declaration - Weight Loss

1/20/2021

Someone said, not sure who - when I googled it, nothing came up - that writing your goals down may not be enough. If you want to succeed, you must make a public declaration. I agree. The truth is, we all fail to keep promises and have lied to ourselves more times than we care to count. I am no exception, especially when it comes to the things close to home, personal things, like dieting and exercising. So, starting today, I am making a PUBLIC DECLARATION that for the remainder of January, I will lose 5 lbs.  I will continue to do so every month (5lbs) until I reach my desirable weight. I will also exercise 3 times a week. Given this is a Public Declaration, I will upload a video on YouTube! NOT OF ME EXERCISING! That would be more painful for you than me - to check in with you guys, so you know I'm keeping up with my promises and all. I weighed myself this morning, and in an envelope, I wrote the number in pounds and kilograms. I am not ready to reveal my number yet. However, at the end of each month, I will weigh and record my new weight, and by the end of June, I will open the envelope, and we shall all clap  👏  to my success!!! Yay! -  👏  👏 yes, like that.
Now, I know some of you think 5 lbs per month is nothing, but I assure you, as someone who tried and failed many times in this area, it is harder than it sounds, at least for me. It will encompass significant changes in my eating habits, and that's what I want.
Anyway, I already did my daily workout and made an introductory video of this event. It will be uploaded to YouTube later on today - when my daughter shows me how, lol.
As always, it is lovely to have you in my life. If you read my last blog, you can see, I have taken my advice and included exercise in my routine. C'mon, let's get healthier together. You can cheer me on  👍, or better; you can join me  🤝. Let me know how it goes through my Contact page.
Until then, stay in and stay safe.  😊

Hello, everybody,

There have been a few developments on my writer's front.
I signed-up up for the GBD101 course with Kathy ver Eecke. The reviews were positive, and in my opinion, it's worth a try. So far, we only had one session together, and I feel I have already learned so much. In fact, I am determined to seek an agent for the sequel to "Unveiling."
To be successful in that, among other conditions, I have to have a reasonable amount of sales for book 1. I have been heavily promoting with that in mind, and with no surprise, so far, I haven't seen much results - I say with no surprise because my book was published on November 20th, 2020 (barely six weeks ago), and we had holidays in between. Not to mention, in January, I received November sales. Thank you, family
💖 and friends💖!!!
I am looking forward to seeing December sales in February.

I also changed my website a little and made a new page for my fellow struggling or happily successful writers who want to share their experiences and help others. It's a good feeling to know you are not alone in the struggle and have someone cheer for your success.
I will be posting a new email on that page every Friday, so there is no rush and to give people time to check it out and tell their friends about it.
As always, it's a pleasure having you in my life. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you'll get updates daily. I update my website once, or now with the Writers Support page, twice a week, but it's in more detail.

With the upgraded lockdown and 'stay at home' rules, for the good of our mental health, please, develop a daily routine and follow it; for the good of our physical health, add exercise to your routine, stay home and keep healthy!

Cheers!   😊

New Developments

1/8/2021

Hello everybody,
With the additional lockdown, debut authors have a chance to further pursue writing. I can't complain; even though the paycheck is smaller and the quality of life suffers, I am building my dream. If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or once in a while, check my website, you know I've been trying my best to promote my book. You may have caught some good reviews posted on Amazon.ca, Amazon.in, Amazon.uk, and Goodreads. What you don't know is that I am searching for reviews on Amazon.com. I've contacted multiple reviewers, and quite a few responded favourably. They are swamped with books, and some of them told me honestly, it won't be before July/August. I've reached out to Voracious Readers Only, a company dedicated to connecting readers to new authors and vice versa. Soon, there should be multiple reviews coming out from people all over the world. It is exciting and unnerving as I wait to hear from them. I would like to invite everyone who has read "Unveiling" to go on Amazon or Goodreads and write a short review. Thank you. As a reader, I love to see what other people have said about a book before purchasing it.
Recently I was offered an opportunity by author/blogger Assaph Mehr to write an interview with one or more characters from "Unveiling." It will be featured sometime shortly (I hope!) on The Protagonist Speaks website. I will keep you posted about this because I had fun doing it, and everyone I showed it to thought it was entertaining.
In the meantime, I am writing my second book.
Happy reading! 😊
